Theodore Roosevelt has impeccably cited-“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are”, quite pertinent to elucidate the fidgety junctures of life when one easily disposes off the social expectations for whatever the reason is.
“Kartavya”-The Social Service forum of Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies aims at enabling the impuissant to deliver societal obligations with as much ease as it could be, illustrated by a philanthropy drive monikered as ‘Vivante’ triggered recently with administrating a blood donation campaign first in the college premises on February 24 for the entire day.
The programme went in a peaceful manner due to incorrigible management of all associated activities i.e. from the moment one registered as prospective donor to post-donation refreshments ,were effectually synchronized.
Sanjana, pursuing BMS said-“This was my first experience of donating blood. Initially, I had my hemoglobin and blood pressure test after which I got qualified as an acceptable donor. It was nice and worth-doing.”
“It hardly took thirty minutes to complete entire process making it highly convenient” as told by another donor. The students were granted waivers for the same.
The event was superseded by programmes like Pravah, Goonj Book Stall and Fun- O-lympics to sensitize and orient students with knowledge for the well-being of the society as a whole.
Pravah, second day of Vivante focused on personality development by letting student’s discover their current traits and suggesting them ways to adapt it to an ideal one. It had exciting psychometric tests conducted on those who were willing to analyze their stature.
The drive saw its culmination on the fourth day with ‘Fun-O-Lympics’ which proffered an opportunity to slum children to participate in delightful events , thereby reviving their childhood after organizing Book-fair for the students on the third day.
The entire concept was conceived beautifully and executed in a much beautiful manner impacting lots of lives, be it children with no means but sheer enthusiasm or people who need to blood to run their lives in a smooth routine.
