Perspective 2015 – annual fest of Department of History, Daulat Ram College is scheduled on 27th feb. 2015. The department of history, with the intention to come up with a day full of fun, excitement and knowledge, had planned a series of amusing and interesting events with exciting prizes. Program will start with a lecture by a renowned historian- Dr. Biswamoy Pati. He will be speaking on ‘CRIMINALISING THE POOR OR TARGETING THE MALADY? EXPLORING THE SOCIAL HISTORY OF LEPROSY IN COLONIAL INDIA c.1870-1940’. Lecture will be followed by a series of competitions bearing exciting prize money.
On the list, first is extempore competition wherein students interested have to register themselves on the very day of fest. 3 mins will be given to think about the topic and the participant is suppose to speak for maximum 3 mins.
Next on the list is photography competition wherein interested candidates have to register themselves online and it is mandatory for them to mail their work, well in advance, by 25th feb, 2015 (email id-arpitapundhir@gmail.com ).
Entries after the due date won’t be accepted.There will be a documentary competition which would be employing the same procedure.the documentary should not be of more than 2 mins. Participants are required to mail their documentaries by 25th feb, 2015(email id-harshitasingh29@gmail.com ). The team should comprise of maximum 2 members. Best 5 documentaries will be shortlisted for the main day and results will be declared then and there.
Moving ahead, we have collage making competition. interested candidates have to make a collage from bits of paper. Participants can even register themselves in a form of team ( team should not be of more than two members). maximum 2 people can form a team.
There will be an ad-mad competition as well, for which registration can be done on the very day.Team registering for it, at maximum, can have 3 members.
Winners will be awarded with handsome prize money and a certificate. Department longs to see a large number of participants turning up. Students all across the university are invited.
