The Hindu College conducted its well promoted Hindu Youth Summit 2014 on the 6th and 7th of February 2014. A 7 km approx. Marathon was organised on the 6th of February. The route map encircled the North Campus terrain and the marathon had two phases or parts. The motive or the cause for the marathon was to make people aware of the issues that the women are facing in the country, be it urban or rural. The marathon was kicked off by the Indian Blade Runner in an extremely high spirited manner who mentioned three letters, ASK, an abbreviation for Attitude, Skill and Knowledge which stayed with us throughout the race and helped us complete the marathon which was so well organised. The volunteers made sure that the runners where running the right way, that they were getting water bottles at checkpoints and most importantly, motivated the runners throughout the race. After the completion of the marathon, the forerunners received their respective prizes.
The next day, on the 7th of February, The Hindu Youth Summit Conference was organised in the Faculty of Arts Conference hall. Delegates from various colleges were invited and were provided given state of the art treatment by the volunteers. This event was equally well organised and all grievances were handled pretty well. The portfolio of speakers who gave their speech and interacted in the interjection included: Arnab Goswami (TV Journalist), General Bakshi (Ex – Indian Army), Alok Dikshit (Social Activist), Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore (Olympic Silver Medalist, Professional Shooter) and a few more.
