Hindu College, Northeast Cell hosted its annual festival NEtym 2014

The North Eastern Cell is a society of Hindu College, and their fest started with a football tournament organized in Stephens College grounds, wherein informal teams of friends competed for cash prize of Rs.25, 000. The tournament went on from 27th March till 28th March and a team named- ‘Yomama’ bagged the first prize. The formal inauguration was on 29th March, in Hindu college auditorium, with the presiding chief guest – Ret. Gen. J.J Singh, Indian Army. He had also served in the quantity of governor of Arunachal Pradesh. The programme began with a melodious choir by Hmar Christian Fellowship. The day’s events included a fashion show organized by the NE Cell. A cultural dance event was also scheduled, and the dancers performed ‘Yaoshang’, a special dance form of Manipur, along with many other local dances from Arunachal Pradesh, and Assam, that went on till 4:30 PM. A scintillating musical concert was organized, with performance from the VH1 star and a renowned DJ, Guru Rubin. Another band named, Manipur Girls band also performed. Other than the festivities, Assam Food Stall, Arunachal Pradesh Food Stall, and Naga Handicrafts Stall also attracted a large crowd.
