The first day of Moksha ’16 commenced with ‘Soch – The Street Play Event’ organised by Ashwamedh – The Dramatics Society of NSIT. It witnessed the participation of college teams from around India. The event highlighted social issues with enactments full of juxtaposing emotions. Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women bagged the first position and Dayal Singh Evening college came second. Also, Shivaji college earned a special mention.

Next highlight of the day was ‘Dhwani ’16 – The Music Competition’ which was conducted in the main auditorium of NSIT. The competition was judged by renowned vocalists. The audience was left awestruck by the plethora of melodies. The mix of Indian vocal, Western vocal, instrumental music and acapella left everyone mesmerized.

Kalakriti, the Folk Dance Competition was a treat to the eyes. The audience was left appalled by the extremely fascinating performances portraying different folk dances like Bhangra and Garba. The first position was shared by Maharaja Agrasen college and Sri Guru Nanak Dev College. The second position was bagged by Maitreyi college and the third by Delhi Technological University.

Rouge-The Fashion Parade had its preliminary round and added the much needed respite from heat by the beautiful showcase of prepossessing dresses. All those who qualified have to gear up for the finals that take place tomorrow.

The Viral Fever, famous for their nonpareil creation of laugh riots, too were present in the premises of NSIT from 4-6 PM. Naveen Kasturia, an alumni of NSIT and Arunabh Kumar of ‘Yogi’ fame from TVF Pitchers played host to the interactive session with the students and their non-stereotypical jokes left everyone laughing and yearning for more. Proving one of the major crowd pullers of the evening, the event ended with the screening of a never seen before TVF video starring Naveen Kasturia himself!

NSIT also played host to ‘Mudra – The Choreography Event’ in the evening. The participating teams showed up graceful narratives of different kinds through their gestures. The display of dance forms ranging from classical to contemporary left everyone in awe.
