Ramjas College is a part of the University of Delhi located in north campus Delhi, India. Founded in 1917 by the great educationist and philanthropist, Rai Kedar Nath, the college was named in memory of Lala Ramjas, father of Rai Kedar Nath.It is one of the 3 oldest college which established Delhi University,the other two being St.Stephens college and Hindu college.
Ramjas College offers Undergraduate degree programs in English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Economics, History, Political Science, Music & Maths. Each course has its own society to look after the academic development of students by organising seminars and workshops. The College also offers Certificate Courses in Teaching and Diploma & Advance Diploma Courses in the following languages: French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Persian.
It’s a coeducational college which provides hostel facilities for both , girls and boys.With a beautiful infrastructure ,an attractive cafeteria, gymnasium and delicious food , one can say, the college truly is a hidden treasure. Not only this , the college playground is really big in area for carrying out sport activities.
With the help of Extra Curricular Activities Committee (ECAC ) , the college provides a stage for creative and cultural development of the students to acknowledge their non-academic interests and encourages them to look beyond the bounds of textbooks. So the ECAC has set up various societies which organises festivals to bring out the talents of students by putting up competitive events.

“Shunya” is widely known for its stupendous performances in various competitions and was also selected for the Old World Theatre Festival in 2009. Shunya also has an active Mime Society.
For 2013-2014 session, Ramjas college was ranked #1 in Science, #4 in Humanities and #15 in Commerce in terms of factual ranking on an all India level (India Today College Rankings 2013).Ramjas is active not only in academic area but also in DU elections as well.
Students and alumni of the college are termed” Ramjasite”. Prakash Jha- the film director, Manoj Bajpai- the actor, Chaudhary Brahm Prakash-Delhi’s 1st Chief Minister are some of the notable alumini.
