The management department of Keshav Mahavidyalaya College (also running BMS course) triumphantly organized fourth version of its annual flagship event “Cognizance-2014” exclusively based on the theme “Transforming Organizations-Role of gender, diversity, leadership and technology” in the auditorium hall.
The event started at 9:00 in the morning with the allotment of seats to those students who got pre-registered for it. At around 10:00a.m, inaugural ceremony was initiated followed by lighting of lamps in the gracious presence of Dr R. S. Dhankar (Dean of FMS), Mr. Umesh Shukla (DGM-HR, IsoluxCorson) and Prof. R.K. Saxena (Chairman, Governing Body) accompanied by Dr. MadhuPruthi (Principal, KMV) and department in-charges.
The first session by Mr. Dhankar centered at FMS and its association with DU, which according to him is still nurturing (pointing towards BMS). He talked mainly about values that play crucial role in determining life of o a business in today’s scenario and cited examples like Satyam Computers, Wall Street Crash to strengthen up his views. He urged students to develop their knowledge base rather than focusing on marks and keep on stressing that honesty is biggest virtue that mankind can ever had.
The second session by Mr. Unmesh Shukla talked about sudden and climactic changes in business environment compelling businesses to work even harder. There were two technical sessions lined up after this.
The first technical session was rendered by Mr. Anil Singh (AVP Sales & Distribution, ICICI Prudential) and Ms. Kanika Whig (GM, HR Experion) who were too interactive with students. They talked about role of technology and digitization in transforming organizational structure over the period of time i.e. from “how it was to be” to “how it is”.
Ms. Praveena and Ms. Anubha, both from JAGORI, supplemented the first session and highlighted the role of gender in an organization and need of developing an equal insight for all the genders, particularly women.
The second technical session was taken by Mr. Atul Mittal, who talked about confidence and personality enhancement as key factors to success. He kept it concise and quoted- “Not everyone who puts shit on you is your enemy, No everyone who gets you out oh shit is your friend, if you’re stuck deep enough in shit it is better to shut-up”
The last speaker of the day was Mr. Eish Taneja; a highly acknowledged personality in realm of accounting talked about cracking interviews and acquainted students with certain things they need to know if they are willing to get job in some reputed corporate institution.
On the whole, the event was very-well managed and conceived with good quality of refreshments and certifications to those who participated in it.
