Antardhvani-2014 Bids Farewell By Celebrating Its Valedictory Ceremony Today

“Antardhvani-2014”- a three day joyful ride for University’s enthusiasts came to an end today after acquainting students with plentiful of engaging stuff and imparting them a stage to unleash their latent potential.

The last day witnessed huge crowd in relation to last two days which made it even more successful. As per the University sources, this edition of Antardhvani recorded a conservative estimate of 50,000 visitors each day.

The major highlight of the day was a friendly match between Vice Chancellor’s XI (headed by VC Dinesh Singh) and Principal’s XI (headed by Mr. Sunil Sondhi, Principal, and MAC). Principal’s XI won the match beating their opponent with a good margin and later received prize for the same in the valedictory ceremony.

The valedictory ceremony was delayed and started at around 4:15 p.m. against proposed timing of 3:30 p.m. The ceremony was presided over by Sharmishtha Mukherjee, well renowned Kathak dancer as its Chief Guest along with VC Dinesh Singh and Prof. Malashri Lal, Chairman of Antardhvani Organizing Committee.

VC Dinesh Singh addressed the audience and manifested his happiness over the kind of response received by students that made event a real success. Sharmishtha Mukherjee, alumni of St. Stephen’s College expressed turned nostalgic and expressed her cheer for being positioned on the same place where she started from. She kept her speech short and said “I’m good in expressing myself through my mudras not by my words”

The event saw Sport’s Parade by sport achievers of DU followed by Contortionist performance, Yoga act and Bhangra performance by SGTB Khalsa College that jolted the environment and made it more lively and entertaining for the audience.

Afterwards, all the position holders in different competitive events were felicitated. Those colleges who accomplished the top title are as follows-

IMAGINATIVE WRITING – Deshbandhu College
ORIGNAL POETRY – Maharaja Agrasen College
SHORT FILM – Zakhir Hussain College
ROCK BAND – Zakhir Hussain College
VOCAL SOLO – Maharaja Agrasen College
FOLK DANCE – SGTB Khalsa College
GROUP SONG- Satyawati College
PHOTOGRAPHY – Zakhir Hussain College
RANGOLI – Ramjas College
DEBATE – B.R. Ambedkar College
PAINTING – Daulat Ram College
STREET PLAY – Dyal Singh College

 Those colleges which were awarded cash prize under the category of Good practices are as follows-

Lady Irwin College (First) – Rs 1,00,000

Maharaja Agrasen College (Second) – Rs 7,00,000

Acharya Narendra Dev College (Third) – Rs 5,00,000

 Rahul Gupta, person who composed track for Antardhvani-2014 was also felicitated.

 On the whole, the last day of the central fest brought smiles on the faces of those people who worked hard for the entire year to enjoy such recognition. The organizers promised to bring bigger and better edition of Antardhvani next year.
