Gargi College presents ALOHOMORA, The Marketing Fest! Unleash your creativity, gamer recognition and as the name suggests, unlock you potential.
The marketing society of Gargi College invites students to its marketing event “Alohomora”, the first of its kind.

The Marketing Society of Gargi College is an exclusive club dedicated to the field of Marketing Management. It runs on 3 parallels- Case weeks, Ad weeks and Marketology weeks. It aims to equip the students with a 360 degree exposure in the field of Marketing Management and function as a resource centre for developing superior skills and expertise in this field.

Main Highlight: Talk by the Chief Guest Mr. RP Singh (CEO Kontent Café) on Content Marketing at 9.30am.

The Fest will have multiple events:

The event is a parallel mock stock which allows participants to invest in actors and actresses of Bollywood on basis of fundamental information extracted from reputed Page 3 columns.  The participants have a limit of Rs.1lakh which needs to be exhausted in the first round. The second round entails creation of a consortium of producers and eventual shoot of a trailer using existing resources in the most effective and efficient way. So put on your directors (or if we may say so “producers”) hat and keep the money rolling in. Remember the Great Gatsby wouldn’t have been as great if the Wolf of the Wall Street didn’t come howling loud enough.

ROUND 1: All the teams will be grouped into pairs of two. Each group will be given a product. Likewise different groups will have different products. Then they have to do ‘ambush marketing’ (It refers to a situation in which a company/product seeks to ride on the publicity value of a major event without having contributed to the financing of the event through sponsorship). The two teams can be given different brands of the same product and they can market accordingly. The better team out of each group will make it to the second round.

ROUND 2: Teams who qualify the first round would be presented with a case study based on a marketing problem. This case study would not just test their wit and presence of mind but also their creative application of marketing techniques.

Wrapping up a product with the raw materials, which will be provided to them on the spot.
The participating teams would be designing a package for the product allotted to them.
The teams will be evaluated by the judges on the basis of creativity, cost effectiveness, time taken and the contents included in the package)
10 best teams will qualify for Round 2.

ROUND 2: Selling on the basis of the designed packages of the team, they will be allotted a channel of distribution, Eg- TV Ad, Radio, Newspaper, etc with the best team getting the best channel of distribution.

The teams then have to market their product using the channel of distribution earned.
(Teams would be allowed to choose from the available options, the channel of distribution for promoting their product).
